Vassar College Department of Philosophy - Lectures

Philosopher's Holiday

Philosophers' Holiday is a student and faculty run speakers program that has been in existence at Vassar since 1943. It has brought such distinguished speakers as Hanna Arendt, Richard J. Bernstein, Judith Butler, Albert Camus, Donald Davidson, Jaegwon Kim, Saul Kripke, David Lewis, Alisdair MacIntyre, Mary Mothersill, Thomas Nagel, Derek Parfit, John Searle, Peter Strawson, Michael Waltzer, and Monique Wittig.

Following each talk, there is an extended discussion between the speaker, faculty and students. Interested students and faculty are welcome at dinner with the speaker afterwards, where discussion may continue.
